Damiano Baccarella is an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical, Aerospace and Biomedical Engineering (MABE) Department of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Dr. Baccarella’s research focuses on hypersonic aerothermodynamics, high-speed airbreathing propulsion and non-intrusive diagnostics. Prior joining MABE in 2019, Dr. Baccarella received a MSc in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Pisa (Pisa, Italy) and a PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (Urbana, IL). Dr. Baccarella is a recipient of the 2020 AFOSR Young Investigator Program (YIP) award, and he is currently a member of the AIAA Ground Test Technical Committee. |
